FML Eye Drops are utilized to alleviate inflammation and discomfort in the eye resulting from injury, allergy, or infection. The active component of FML Eye Drops is Fluorometholone, classified as a corticosteroid. This substance aids in decreasing the release of the inflammatory chemicals, thereby mitigating the inflammation.
The application of FML Eye Drops should be directly to the eyes. To begin, the patient should lean their head backward. They can then pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch. One drop can be placed into this pouch, after which the patient should look downward and keep their eye closed for 1 minute. Gentle pressure can be applied to the inner corner of the eye with a finger to help prevent the medication from spilling out.
The specific dosage and frequency of use depend on the severity of the condition being addressed. Patients are advised to consult with their healthcare provider before using these eye drops to establish the appropriate dosage for their needs.
After administering FML Eye Drops, patients may experience temporary stinging or blurred vision for 1 to 2 minutes. Should these symptoms persist or intensify, it is important to seek medical advice. Extended use may lead to increased eye pressure, cataracts, or eye infections. If you experience vision issues, ongoing swelling, eye discomfort, discharge, or headaches, consult your healthcare provider immediately.
